Nasenkonus NK 65 für 1/2” – Messmikrofonkapseln MK
Nose cone NK 65 for 1/2“ – measuring microphone capsules MK

Hersteller / manufacturer: RFT Mikrofontechnik Gefell
Baujahr:
1990

Anwendung

Nose Cone NK 65   for ½”- measurement microphone capsules
Manufacturer: RFT VEB Mikrofontechnik Gefell

Application

The Nose cone NK 65 is used for the impairment of the wind noise when carrying out acoustic measurements in an air flow of high velocity directed axial to the microphone as well as for reducing the dependence of the propagation constant on the angle of incidence of sound at frequencies above 4 kc/s.
The adapter electrode is replaced by screwing the cone onto the standard microphone capsules MK 201, MK 202, MK221 etc..

Construction and Mode of Action

The signal-to-noise ratio is increased by the Nose cone by approx. 20 dB as compared with the adapter electrode.
It can be seen that the dependence of the propagation constant on the angle of incidence of sound is essentially  reduced at frequencies between 4 an 14 kc/s with the NK 65 Model due to the Nose cone, thus having a combination available which, in practice, provides an omni-direction characteristic within the frequency range up to 14 kc/s. By doing this the frequency response within this range is linearized at measurements in the diffused sound field.
The backing material of the Nose cone NK 65 favourable in regard to aerodynamics is provided laterally with sound input ports covered by a thin gauze.
The connecting thread corresponds to the one of the adapter electrode of the MK 201, MK 202, MK221 etc..
